Rep. Greg Markkanen is proud to announce the Michigan Strategic Fund has selected Calumet Electronics Corporation to receive financial support toward its planned expansion. The company is expanding to respond to an increased need from the Department of Defense.

Calumet Electronics manufactures printed circuit board and packaged substrates which are essential for semiconductor production in the aerospace and defense industry. Calumet employs around 350 employees at its headquarters in Calumet, Michigan.

“This project will bring jobs and an incredible investment to the Calumet community,” said Markkanen, R-Hancock. “Anytime we can pair an investment in local business with an investment in our armed forces, it’s a win for Michigan.”

Calumet will receive a $7.5 million Michigan Business Development Program grant and a 15-year tax exemption, worth nearly $760,000. The community investment from the project will total over $32.6 million.
